General Queries

Most of the Compact Instruments come complete with a Certificate of Calibration. This does not contain any test values. Available Calibration options:
  • In-house certificate, traceable to national standards with calibration values at 5 points. Available at an extra cost of £85.00 plus carriage.
  • UKAS certificate is available at an extra cost of £125.00 plus carriage, in this case the calibration is performed by a UKAS accredited test house.
The list prices exclude VAT, taxes, duty and carriage. These charges are calculated at the checkout if applicable.
The Products will usually have a product image on our website.
Various Compatible Accessories are available for the Optional Accessories section on the product pages.
Compact Instruments does not have a trial period policy.

Advent Handheld Tachometers, Concorde Handheld Tachometers and Optical Speed Sensors are supplied with 3 off 75mm x 25mm strips of reflective tape. Extra tape is available to purchase from Optional Accessories.
Yes, it can be exchanged, provided it is returned without damage, in its original boxing, with all the contents clean and unmarked. after testing a re-stocking refund equivalent to 25% of the original listed price will be deducted from the credit value.

Payments are made in pound sterling only.
Credit facilities are by application and are dependent on the volume and the purchase history.
Compact Instruments use reliable carriers to deliver your order. Most of our in-house products are stocked and are normally dispatched the next working day.
  • UK Mainland deliveries are normally the next working day, excluding Bank Holidays.
  • Most European deliveries are usually 2 to 3 working days.
  • Worldwide deliveries are usually 3 to 6 working days.
We can send you a copy of the waybill information if required, so you may track your order. Please ensure you give us the full delivery address, contact name and telephone number.

Calibration

There are three types of calibration.
  • A Calibration card is included free with most instruments, Traceable to national standards but contains no calibration data.
  • In-house certificate, traceable to national standards with calibration values at 5 points. Available at an extra cost of £85.00 plus carriage.
  • UKAS certificate is available at an extra cost of £125.00 plus carriage, in this case the calibration is performed by a UKAS accredited test house.
The Cost of an in-house Calibration is normally £85 plus carriage. Please see Calibration of Instruments for more Calibration options.
For Speed Measurement Instruments it is usually within one working week. Please Contact Us for more information on other products.

Repairs

There is a small chargeable fee for an inspection, however this is wavered should the repair be sanctioned.
This is dependent on the damage or a fault. The product will be inspected and a quotation will be provided for the cost for the Repair.
Warranty on a Repair is normally 6 months.
Yes, Compact Instruments provides a repair service on our own Instruments.
