The Software controls and monitors the sensor via the USB connector, which also provides power for the device. RPM can be measured by pointing the device at a targetted wheel with a suitable reflector. The Software monitors and saves rpm data from 3 rpm to 99,999 rpm.

Maximum, minimum and average speeds are displayed in real time and graphically displayed. Various time-sampling periods and unit types can be set. There is also a wheel diameter setting, required when measuring linear speed.
